How it works

1. Choose a bundle or a package, and tell us where you sellStart from the question you need answered and name the country where the honey will be sold. If you are not sure which tests, tell us who is asking, and we recommend the set.
2. Send a coded sample, from anywhereA plain jar with a tight lid, filled from the lot and marked only with a sample code: no brand, no origin, no paperwork inside the parcel. We send the code list, the prepaid UPS label and the customs documents for laboratory samples, from any country UPS ships from; the quotation states how much honey to send. The sample is analysed under a reference code, without your name or brand; the report comes back to you under your own lot reference.
3. Receive one signed reportEvery result read against the limit of the market you named, with the limit itself, the method, the reporting limit and the measurement uncertainty beside it. PDF, in English.

Wherever you are

Tested in Europe, read against your market

Each result is read against the limit that applies where the honey will be sold, and that limit is named on the report. The same sample can be reported against more than one market.

1. Selling into Europe?European importers ask for accredited results against EU limits before they buy. Test the lot at the source and ship it with the report: composition, lead, and the prohibited residues, with accreditation that European importers accept.
2. Buying from abroad?Check the consignment before you release it, against the limits of your own market. One parcel from the port or the warehouse, one report per lot, and a programme price if you test every consignment.
3. Selling at home?Tell us the country where the honey will be sold, and we read the results against its rules. For the EU and the UK we hold every limit. Most other countries base their honey rules on Codex, the international honey standard (CXS 12-1981); where a country has its own limits, we apply those instead. Where a country sets no limit for a parameter, the report says so rather than inventing one.

Start here: the tests that belong together

Each bundle runs from one sample set and comes back as one report with one date. Bundles cost less than the same packages ordered separately. Prices per sample, in euro, excluding VAT. Turnarounds are indicative; the report date is confirmed when your samples are received.

Programmes

Testing lot after lot? Put it on a programme.

For importers, packers and exporters who test every consignment: a fixed protocol, a fixed price for twelve months, and a sample kit of plain, pre-coded jars so that each lot takes five minutes to send and nothing with your name on it leaves your site. Reports arrive per lot, read against the limits of the market you name.

Packages

Sixteen packages, one question each

Prices per sample, in euro, excluding VAT. Turnaround and sample amount are indicative: usual figures, in working days from receipt of the sample, before the transit time from your country. The exact quantity to send for your order is given on the quotation; the report date is confirmed when your samples are received. The handling and shipping fee — EUR 80 within the EU, UK and EFTA, EUR 150 rest of world — is charged once per order, however many samples, packages or bundles it contains.

We do not currently offer sugar-syrup authenticity testing by isotope ratio (EA- or LC-IRMS), NMR profiling or LC-HRMS. HON-12 is a screen, not a substitute.

Reading the labels

What the accreditation labels mean

Every package states whether it is performed under ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, and for which matrix, before you order. The report says the same thing.

• Accredited · honey named
  The accreditation scope names honey for this method. The result carries the accreditation mark.
• Accredited · food
  The method is accredited for foodstuffs or products of animal origin, a category that includes honey without naming it. The result carries the accreditation mark.
• Not accredited
  A validated in-house or screening method. The result is reported without the accreditation mark and is not suitable where an accredited result is required.

Analyses are performed at EU national institutes, each accredited by the national accreditation body of its country. Those bodies are signatories of the European agreement (EA MLA) and of the international arrangement (ILAC MRA, Global ACI since 2026) that UKAS, A2LA, SCC, NATA, IANZ and the other national accreditation bodies have signed, under which each recognises the others’ accreditation as equivalent to its own. The accredited report you receive can therefore be filed as such in HACCP records and supplier verification in the UK, North America, Australia and New Zealand as in the EU.

Confidentiality

Your honey, your results, your business

Everything you send is used for your analysis and for nothing else: never shared, never sold. During analysis your sample is identified by an internal reference only, never by your name or the product’s brand; the code list that links the jar to your lot stays with us. The results, and the fact that the analysis was arranged, are yours. Records are held in confidence and deleted once no longer needed.

Testing every consignment? Ask for a programme quotation (see Programmes above). EU businesses with a valid VAT number, and all customers outside the EU, are invoiced without VAT.
